As a postpartum doula, I essentially take care of you and everything around you to ease your transition into parenthood and life with a newborn. This looks like many different things depending on what you need, including:

  • Assist you with breastfeeding, as a Certified Lactation Counselor I am able to provide education and support in all aspects of infant feeding as well as problems solve common breastfeeding issues such as pain with latch, milk supply, pumping, clogged ducts and so on.

  • Cooking nourishing and healthy foods for you and your family so that you can better take care of your new baby. I am an avid cook and knowledgeable in several postpartum food traditions.

  • Cleaning and doing basic housework so that your living environment is supportive of your lifestyle, including helping arrange or re-arrange your space so that it is ergonomically conducive to life with a newborn.

  • Demonstrating baby-wearing and newborn care, taking care of your newborn (feeding, soothing, bathing, etc.) while you rest or get some time to yourself.

Kind Words…

“Laila worked with our family as a postpartum doula. Which doesn’t even begin to describe how much she helped our family in the weeks after my daughter was born. Our son was 2 years old at the time of my daughters birth. My husband and I wanted postpartum help, knowing that relearning how to care for a newborn and taking care of an active toddler would require a lot of energy. Laila helped with both our son and newborn daughter. Doing everything from crafts and playtime with my son, snuggling and changing my daughter, light cleaning, laundry. You name it, she did it! Laila helped this tired mom have a few hours of sanity in the early days of learning how to care for our two little ones!”
